Freelance Research & Lead Organization Specialist
(Project-Based Contract - 15-25hrs/week)
Are you a detail-loving, spreadsheet-wielding, fiber arts enthusiast? Do you get a thrill from discovering new yarn shops, indie dyers, and knitting influencers? If you’re naturally curious, highly organized, and love working independently, we’d love to have you on board!
At Thread & Maple, we create beautiful, high-quality organizers, project bags, and accessories for knitters and crocheters. We’re on the lookout for a Freelance Lead Research Specialist to help us find and connect with amazing yarn shops, brands, and creators in the fiber arts industry.
What You’ll Be Doing:
🧶 Research potential leads through various channels, including online searches and social media.
📋 Compile and organize lists of yarn shops, knitting and crochet brands, dyers, designers, and influencers for wholesale, PR, and collaboration opportunities.
🔍 Ensure accuracy by filling in missing details and keeping our lead database clean and up to date.
✨ Prioritize high-potential leads based on key criteria to help us make the best connections.
📊 Work with spreadsheets, Airtable, and other lead management tools to keep everything organized.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ A research whiz with a knack for efficiently gathering pertinent details
✅ A spreadsheet aficionado (Excel pros, we see you 👀) who isn’t afraid of new tech solutions like Airtable or AI
✅ Highly organized with sharp attention to detail—because tiny stitches matter, and so do tiny data points!
✅ Self-motivated and happy working independently.
✅ Knowledge of the fiber arts industry (knitting, crochet, yarn brands, and related communities) is a must.
✅ Prior experience in lead research, data entry, or market research is a plus!
Why You’ll Love Working with Us:
At Thread & Maple, we celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Regardless of background, gender, or culture, we believe in equal opportunities for growth. We foster a friendly, respectful, and collaborative work environment where everyone is valued.
And let’s be real—we’d absolutely love a fellow needlecraft nerd! But even if you don’t knit or crochet yourself, as long as you’re enthusiastic about the fiber arts world and excited about what we do, we’d love to meet you! 😊
This is a flexible, remote, project-based contract role. If this sounds like your kind of gig, apply now and help us connect with the amazing makers and businesses in our community!
