The Hunger Project

A shocking 690 million people in the world are chronically under-nourished. Women bear almost all of the responsibility of meeting the basic needs of the family, yet are systematically denied access to resources, information and freedom action they need to fulfill this responsibility. Hunger is inextricably linked to poverty. The vast majority of the world's poor are women and most kids not in school are girls. The Hunger Project empowers women at the local level in impoverished communities, by providing education, resources, micro-financing and training to sustainably end hunger.

It’s estimated that 33% of adolescent girls and young women face anxiety disorders leading to depression, eating disorders, addiction, self-harm, and OCD. The Lionheart Foundation strives to empower adolescent girls and young women to achieve strong mental health and well-being so that they can overcome past self-harming behaviors to live healthy, productive lives with positive relationships.

Giving Back - Sisters United

Sisters United

What started out as a monthly initiative to raise funds for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) has since turned into a life form of its own. Within the first year and with the help of the Fiber Arts community we raised almost $20,000 for organizations who are empowering and supporting Native American Women and created the Sisters United Scholarship that awards one Great Falls Public School student with $5,000 of higher education.

The Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association is the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, fighting for research and care initiatives for those suffering with this horrible disease. We selected this organization to honor the life of our crochet collab partner Vincent's (@visuvios_crafts) grandparents, who lost their lives to this illness.

Giving Back - UNICEF Children in Ukraine

Unicef Children in Ukraine Fund

More than half of Ukraine's children have been displaced by the war and cannot go back to school this September. UNICEF is helping to rebuild 50 education centres in safe areas and has partnered with the Ministry of Education of Moldova to help displaced Ukrainian students integrate into the local school system there.
