Needle Binder

I waited well over a year before posting a review of my Thread and Maple binder as I wanted to present an honest assessment of the product. I knit every day and have multiple WIPs on the go. I also have a ton of needles and tips and cords from Chiagoo and Knit Pro. So, whenever I start a new project, if the needles/tips/cords are not in the binder, I know for sure they are in use elsewhere. Everything that is not in use is in the binder - one place - and in its designated and identified slot. I have a notions page (in burgundy, to make it readily identifiable from the other whiskey color pages), as well as pages for interchangeable tips and cords. The binder is in daily use and the leather is developing a smooth patina from that use. I love that the pages are grab and go; I cannot stress how frustrating it is to think that you have everything you need in your travels and then realize that you need a different needle size or cord to continue knitting. And then, with frustration, the project stops; or you have to go somewhere to buy a replacement. Yes, the initial investment can present a bit of internal discussion, but the time and organization payoff for me really compensates for the cost. Knowing where everything is at all times and being able to find things quickly is very important to me. And, the craftsmanship of all the Thread and Maple products is excellent. I will have this binder in use for always and it will likely outlast me.

The needle binder is just so beautiful and well thought out. Only a couple pages left to complete the set, but so far absolutely room for everything! I love leaving the binder out for people to look through 🧶❤️

As a knitter, I purchased the jumbo crochet binder to take advantage of the pockets, along with 3 fixed needle pages, a cables organizer page, and an interchangeable Chiaogoo complete page (kicking myself for not going the interchangeable route early!). Is this a grand gesture gift to myself for accomplishing the feat of learning to knit last summer? YES- I know I’ll stick with it. Is it an uber luxury way of storing your tools? YES- my dogs continue to realize how fancy I am. Is the ~$700 I spent on this set up (including a couple needle slips and needle size markers) giving me a little anxiety and have been better spent elsewhere? ALSO YES. With the jumbo binder, and putting all my needles and items in, this binder can comfortably hold 5 pages, which is probably the max so my set up is complete at this point. It is definitely well made but expect some imperfections in the leather and some early wear and tear (which I think adds to the beauty of a craft).

I also purchased the needle slips, which are magnetic- a nice touch. The needle size markers I wouldn’t purchase again as the numbers are impossible to read without a bright light.

Once the dust settled, I realize the binder is beautiful quality but I probably couldn’t justify the cost. However that’s all subjective and I also don’t have the heart to return it given the story and mission of this company so I’ll enjoy the heck out of it!

This binder is absolutely beautiful, I hmm'ed and haw'ed over it for weeks before purchasing it in December as a Christmas present for myself. It's well made, and has a thoughtful design where you can add as many pages as you can fit which I love so much. However, the leather scuffs very easily. Like very easily, so much so that if it gets jostled in my project bag, the ends of my needles are scratching the leather. I understand it's real leather which does scuff easily, but for a product that ended up costing $300, I'm a little disappointed. Some people may enjoy the rustic look of gently loved leather, unfortunately I am not one of them.

I was looking for something to neatly organized and store all of my knitting items. I wanted something that was classy and would survive many years of use. I absolutely love my binder and pages and look forward to filling my binder. It is beautifully crafted. Far exceeded my expectations on organization. What a wonderful Christmas present from my husband!

I also posted the page with my Knitter's Pride needles bc I got it during the seconds sale and you cannot tell it is any different from the other pages. T&Ms standards are very high.

Every so often, I would search the internet for a storage system for my knitting needles. I've purchased organizers in the past, only to be disappointed when the system did not sufficiently hold all my needles. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this product on my last search. I purchased the binder and a page to hold my fixed circular needles. It's like the designer was in my head. These were made for me. Yes, the cost is high, but the quality is high. I will be purchasing more pages.

Not only is this knitting binder beautiful, it’s also SO functional! I purchased this binder in hopes that maybe I’d be gifted a page for my birthday or Christmas to add to it, but I just couldn’t wait. I ended up buying the binder and within two weeks I ended up with 4 additional pages! I got the whiskey color and it’s absolutely stunning! Thread and Maple have truly thought of everything and the details are amazing! I can finally have all of my supplies stored in one place!
